General Decor
In this section, you will find resources for the general decor suggestions in the theme packet.Some of these items you may already have around your house and can be bought at your local dollar store, Walmart or Hobby Lobby. However, for your convenience, we have links if you would like to purchase these items online.
Artificial Leaves
Using artificial leaves is less messy than real ones. These will add that “fall” touch to any decor.
Baskets
These wicker baskets are decor favorites! They are low and have handles. The wicker on these holds together well.
Large Googly Eyes
These eyes make decorating with monsters and mummies a lot of fun. These eyes are 6″ around.
Gratitude Tree
This bulletin board-type tree is adjustable from 39″ – 76″ tall. It would work great to put up on a wall.
Twine
This twine is heavy duty enough to hold up but thin enough to work with – cut, tie, etc.
Glass Vases
Glass vases make great decor pieces. Fill them with candy, leaves, plastic skulls, pumpkins, etc.
Mason Jars
These glass jars are clear without embossed writing on the sides. The silver lids make great decor lids.
Large White Balloons
Large white Latex balloons make super ghosts if you add the white crepe paper “tails.”
Plastic Skulls
This is an 8-pack of small plastic skulls. You can put these into a glass vase or even a glass lantern.

You will find many different kinds of fall signs that you can use to decorate your space.

Crafts

Artificial Leaves
If you don’t want to use paper leaves for the Gratitude tree, try using artificial leaves. You will need to use a Sharpie marker in order to write on these leaves.
Beaded Indian Corn
These cute little beaded corn cobs are fun and easy to make. They can be used as decor or just as a craft for the kids. Beading helps with eye-hand coordination for little ones. You can also talk about patterns with the bead colors.
No Sew Blanket Tutorial
A no-sew blanket is fun and easy to make together. This is the blanket my 7-year-old granddaughter and I made.
Glycerin Gel
You don’t need a lot of glycerin for a snow globe. You generally only need a few tablespoons. This 8 oz. bottle will make quite a few snowglobes.

Tan Color Pipe Cleaners
Pipe cleaners (or chenille stems) come in many different colors. For the beaded corn, the tan, yellow or brown all work to make the little ends of the corn.
Fleece Fabric by the Yard
Find fleece fabric that you can buy by the yard. Many different patterns to choose from.
Bubble Painting Tutorial
This great tutorial from Early Learning Ideas makes a really easy but fun activity for little ones. You only need some paint, some dish soap and a straw. Well. . .even the bigger kids will have fun with this.
PVA Glitter Glue
This set of glitter glue is a great value for making slime crafts. You can use other clear glue, but this one is specifically for slime and works really well and you don’t have to add glitter. It’s already in the glue!
Pony Beads
Grab some pony beads in orange, yellow and red to make your Indian corn. It’s hard to find small single-color packages unless you go to your local craft store. So, you could always buy a mult-colored package and pull out whatever colors you want to use!

This is a simple tutorial from The Soccer Mom Blog. There is a 1-minute video showing just how easy this is to do.
Finger-knitting Tutorial
Make a great scarf in just about an hour. There is no need for needles or knitting knowledge. This great little tutorial will show you how to create a warm scarf in no time!
Saline Solution
To make good slime, you need a contact solution with boric acid and sodium borate. Most contact solution has both of these ingredients. We’ve researched to find the one that is the least expensive option for one bottle.
Boondoggle
Boondoggle (or plastic lacing string) comes in many fun colors and can be used to make bracelets, keychains, necklaces, etc. Let the kids use their imagination to make whatever they want!
Fall Leaf Confetti
This package should be plenty for a “snowglobe” project. These leaves are foil and will hold up well in water.
Loop-y Yarn for Scarf
There are different brands of this loop-y yarn. The Red Heart brand is a bit cheaper than the others and makes a great scarf for kids. The big loops make it easy for little hands.

Pinatas are always a great activity for kids. Filled with candy and toys and you get to bust it open with a bat? That’s a recipe for great fun as far as kids are concerned.

Sidewalk Chalk
My favorite thing about this sidewalk chalk is that it has a nice plastic bucket to contain the chalk. Bright colors!
Funnel Cakes
Funnel cakes are amazing to eat and amazingly simple to make. The best part is that they smell sooo good when they’re cooking.
Carve-able Pumpkin
Fake carve-able pumpkins are a lot less messy than the real thing. This is a 6″ pumpkin. The nice thing is that they are re-usable year after year. You can carve them just like a real pumpkin and even add a light inside for a glowing jack-o-lantern.
Search & Find Jigsaw Puzzle
This simple jigsaw puzzle is easy for children to put together but then you can have more fun as you look for hidden rainforest animals in the completed puzzle.
Strawberry Freezer Jam Tutorial
This is a super easy tutorial for Strawberry Freezer Jam from Tastes Better From Scratch.
Halloween Jigsaw Puzzle
This puzzle is 300 pieces so it’s a bit more challenging and therefore better suited for older children. The cute picture is perfect for the fall season.
